This little router works quite well after you flash it to dd-wrt. It is the same board as a TP-Link wr841nd v7 . You have to flash a specialized version of dd-wrt to this router from the web interface. After that you can update the dd-wrt version by downloading the version for the TP-link wr841nd v7. Overall, this is an excellent router for $25. Range seems to be pretty good and it is an atheros chipset which does have it's advantages. DD-wrt works well on it. I didn't even try the stock firmware but it looks very similar to TP-link firmware which is not bad from what I have read. If you are looking for a cheap router to use dd-wrt, this would be it or you could go with the Asus Rt-N10+ but that is only single stream 802.11n, this model is capable for 150 Mb/s on 20 mhz channels or 300 mb/s on 40 mhz channels. In my experience, it is much better just to settle for 20 mhz channels for 2.4 ghz. Also if you flash dd-wrt you can use 10mhz channels or 5 mhz channels.
The only con I can find with this router is, the antennas are not removable. The antennas are decent, but are not removable, so it limits what you can do with this router. In general this makes a good simple everyday router that should be able to satisfy most users, atleast after flashing dd-wrt.
