1) The gigabit is where we are at today with speed. Most - even heavy - internet users wouldn't notice a difference unless Google Fiber was in your neighborhood, but you will notice a difference for wired in house transfers. But lets face it, wired ports are on their way out with floppy drives and modems. Look at what's heavily trending with ultrabooks and you'll see what I'm talking about.
