I bought the router through Amazon. I connected it to the network and then upgraded the firmware. My internet connection is 50 down and 10 up. I did a speedtest and found that I was only getting 10 down and 10 up. I called Cisco tech support. The answered and we quickly worked through some troubleshooting steps. Turns out, when you upgrade the firmware, you need to do a "restore to factory defaults" and then reconfigure the router. The upgrade process does not remember your old settings well and something gets corrupted. Anyway, no harm no foul, took all of 15 minutes to resolve. Port forwarding works like a charm. VPN was configured quickly and my iphone can connect to the home network. Media routing in the house has no interruption (tested parallel streaming of movies, a concurrent download, and watching Netflix on one TV). This is not a router you'd hand over to your Mom to configure - but if you have an intermediate knowledge level of networks, you'll do just fine.
